Landlords

The Midland Landlord Accreditation Scheme (MLAS) MLAS_red-298x300

The Midland Landlord Accreditation Scheme (MLAS) is managed by the ‘Homestamp Consortium’ and includes a range of partner organisations from across the Midlands area.

MLAS recognises and accredits good landlords who provide their tenants with high quality, safe accommodation.

Accreditation can be gained by individuals, agents, partnerships or limited companies.

To become accredited:

Prospective members must attend one of our ‘Development Day Seminars’. They must agree to follow our ‘code of conduct’ and they must certify that they are a ‘fit and proper person’, after which they receive certification and their MLAS membership number.

Accreditation with the MLAS is for a period of five years. During this time, all members must undertake ‘Continuing Professional Development’ (CPD). A member’s period of accreditation will be extended providing sufficient CPD points have been accrued during their current period of accreditation. Currently, there is no charge associated with continuation of a member’s accredited status into the next five year period.

MLAS run both seminars and workshops for members – and the vast majority of people who attend these courses find it extremely informative and worthwhile.

Our seminars and workshops are key to what the MLAS is all about – educating and informing members about best practice in the private rented sector, updating them on the latest legal requirements and providing them with news and general information about the industry.

MLAS accreditation allows our members to access a range of benefits provided by our local authority partners.

Existing or prospective tenants can view the list on of accredited individuals, agents, partnerships and companies.
